Andover Railway Station Maintains 'Secure Stations' Status
20 Jan 2010
Sir George has been told by the Department for Transport that Andover Railway Station has been reaccredited under the Secure Stations Scheme, having met the necessary national standards in station, passenger and staff security.

"This national scheme covers all railway and underground networks that are policed by the British Transport Police, and it has established standards of good practice. Individual stations that have worked with the Transport Police get accredited and, once they are accredited, they remain accredited for two years after which they apply for reaccreditation. Andover Station has been reaccredited and that is good news for all who use the station, and my congratulations go to the staff".
