Tomorrow at 5pm, MP's are no longer MP's. We turn into pumpkins; our life support system at Westminster is switched off - we can no longer access the intranet, or put those two letters after our name.

My House of Commons office is working today, making sure that we are up to date with all the correspondence and emails before we are locked out tomorrow.

One of my last engagements before I am dissolved was to attend Daffodil Sunday in Binley. This event has been held in the spring every year since 1997, and raises funds for Andover Riding for the Disabled, founded by Dinah Murdoch in 1972. The grounds of two houses in Binley are open to the public, and people can wander round enjoying the sight of the banks of daffodils. Tea and cakes await the visitor at the end. The Maclays chose exactly the right Sunday - with the daffodils at their best.

Bak home, the invitation to contact me, on the introductory leaflet is yielding dividends. About 50 cut-off slips sent to the office, and about the same number of emails.
